Booker Gifts - Liverpool www.bookerweddings.co.uk Organising Your Wedding Flowers   The Bridal bouquet is the most intimate floral arrangement for the wedding and will be in many of your photographs. It is usually from this that the decisions of your other flowers choices will be made.   So if you can’t afford many flowers – at the very least don’t skimp on the bridal bouquet   White is still traditionally the most popular colour for the brides bouquet – however a coloured bouquet can really stand out against the white of the brides dress and make a real focal point drawing the eye where it should be on her wedding day to the bride herself.  Colours for bridal bouquet can vary from soft pastels such as pink through to rich vibrant colours such as orange, and violets.   At the end of the day the choice of flowers for the bouquet depend on what you want, the style of your dress, your height and wedding theme. There are various styles of bouquet these include round (or hand tied), sheaf, and shower bouquets. Styles Round or Hand-tied bouquet – The most popular at the moment.  They can come in many different styles. A More formal style with one type of flower and colour neatly round and domed. A Looser style with different colours and textures. A  more country wild style with a just picked look of different types of flowers with plenty of green and bits ‘sticking out’ of the round of the bouquet. Sheaf – Over arm bouquet more suited to the taller bride who has a closer fitting dress Shower Bouquet – A large trailing bouquet which is particularly suited to larger romantic style wedding gowns.  These usually consist of flowers wired to a handle and are a very traditional shape of bouquet. However your choice of flowers does not have to be restricted by this you could add colour and a personal flower choice to make this more unique to you. Posy – is a very small bouquet quite minimalist suiting a fitted and more understated dress.  However minimalist does not have to mean cheap for example a posy of Lily of the valley is quite a luxurious option. Pomander – This is a ball of flowers usually without foliage which is suspended on a ribbon for the bride to wear on her wrist. In the above 2 classes you will learn how to make an Aqua packed Hand Tied Bouquet, perfect for giving out as gifts.

September
Saturday - September 26th Between 10-12 - Harvest Arrangement
Tuesday - September 29th Between 6-8 - Harvest Arrangement

In the above 2 classes  you will learn how to arrange flower in Oasis and the arrangement will have an Autumnal / Harvest theme.


Basic details about the classes £35 per 2 hour session. Small class sizes of 3-6 people ensuring you get lots of individual attention. With each class, all flowers, containers and sundries are provided, and will be yours to take with you. We will cover a selection of different floral designs (one per class) covering all aspects of floral designs including hand-tied bouquets, Arrangements in floral foam, wired designs, glued designs and more. You will also learn about conditioning of flowers, names, principles of design. A fun way to learn the basics of floral design.

But the first step is to choose a florist ‘who gets you’ and will get the job done right.  To choose your florist you will want to book a consultation where the florist will go through what you want and help you choose if you are unsure.  Ask to see photographs of their work to make sure they can deliver what you want and also look for testimonials from other brides. In your consultation the florist will want to know what style you like eg. Lavish, simple, modern, romantic any must have flowers and your colour theme.  For quotation purposes they will also need to know the numbers of bridesmaids, how many people will want buttonholes and corsages, what decoration  you would like for the wedding venue and reception.  It is also helpful if you have a budget – that way they will be able to make suggestions based on how much you want to spend. After you  have had a detailed discussion the florist should be able to provide you with a detailed quotation.  You may want to see a few florist so you can get an idea of what different florist will provide.  After you have seen them it is time to decide which florist will be providing your flower, it is not all about price (although this is an important factor) it is also very important that the florist get your vision and that you have the confidence in them to provide top quality service.  If price is a big factor in your decision making process make sure you are comparing ‘apples with apples’.  For example - A rose bridal bouquet from one florist could look very different in size and quality than a rose bridal bouquet from anther florist.
