Hello Summer!
Well, we have been having some glorious days this month haven't we? We've had the paddling pool take up residence in the garden so that it stays handy! It's hard to imagine the Winter at the moment when we have these hot, sticky days, so I won't start talking about Christmas just yet....
We've just launched our new Booker Flowers and Gifts You Tube Channel so that even if you can't make our flower arranging workshops, you can still get to see our demonstrations and learn lots of tips and tricks of the trade. So please make sure you click the red button to subscribe at the right of the page so that you will be notified of any new videos uploaded!
Flower of the Month Sunflowers epitomise the beginning of Summer with their bright shining flower heads bringing us all some sunshine.
To care for your sunflowers, make sure you cut stems diagonally, remove surplus leaves and make sure you keep the vase topped up. They are thirsty flowers!
4 Week Flower Arranging Course
Starting on Wednesday September 13th we are running a 4 week Flower Arranging Course which will be held each Wednesday afternoon from 2pm - 3.30pm at our shop on Booker Avenue.
You will learn how to make a: • Hand tied Bouquet • Traditional Oasis Arrangement • Modern Oasis Arrangement • Flower Crown
If you've ever wondered about if you'd make a good florist - this would be the perfect opportunity to find out!
Total Cost for the Course = £140 (all flowers, containers and sundries are provided, and will be yours to take with you).

Book early to avoid disappointment, as we will be keeping the class size small so that you get lots of individual attention. As places are snapped up quickly, we are asking for a 50% non-refundable deposit to be paid upon booking. The balance will be due at the first class on the 13th September.
The cheery yellow combined with other pretty pink flowers gives a real summery feel and is sure to brighten anyone's day.
Featuring Sunflowers, Lilies, Gerberas and Alstromeria, this Sunflower bouquet has been hand arranged by our skilled florists at Booker Flowers and Gifts with lots of luscious greenery.
The lilies in the picture are closed however once open this bouquet will look twice the size.
Are you planning a wedding and looking for some alternate wedding venue decorations? We stock these fabulous Mr and Mrs Big Light Up Letters on our gift website. We also have them in our window display at the moment if you want to see them in person. They look really fabulous and are a quirky DIY wedding venue decoration that will wow all your guests.
These large light up letters would look really good at the side of the dance floor for your first dance, or in front of the top table if you're having an evening reception.
Kate chose a stunning just picked, country, wild style mix of wedding flowers in deep coral pinks, blues, purples, yellow and creams. We created the bridal party flowers, plus large milk churns full of flowers to decorate the entrance to the church as well as inside and rustic pew ends.
At the reception there was a beautiful large top table arrangement using all of the flowers that we had in the bridal bouquet, plus lots of other large country flowers such as delphiniums, peonies, snapdragons and sweet peas. The bride and groom also had a chair decoration to hang over the back of their chair.
It was delight to create and Kate sent us an email soon after saying:
"Hi Gemma, I just wanted to say thank you so much for the flowers. They were absolutely amazing, exactly what I wanted, I couldn't have asked for more! Lots of compliments from our guests too. Would recommend you to anyone. Thank you once again and best wishes. Kate."
